Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Professional Development

DEI Professional Learning

Our services focus on creating meaningful peer-to-peer learning formats and coaching around DEI. Participants learn and use real-world DEI scenarios and protocols that lead to authentic impact and sustainable change.

Operationalizing DEI

We support participants in moving beyond the basics of defining diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Participants learn to integrate new methods and strategies alongside highly committed facilitators. We do not offer “one-and-done” workshops. Operationalizing DEI across self and systems is a long-term and ongoing endeavor.

The i3 Institute supports businesses to navigate tough racial, gender, and cultural issues by equipping them with the right tools and resources to foster real open dialogue and to create operational sustainability for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

We look forward to being part of your learning and leading journey. Contact us to start the dialogue together.

“If you have come to help me you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”

Participatory Action Research

Participatory action research (PAR) is an approach that emphasizes participation by members of communities most affected by the challenge or opportunity the research itself is seeking to change and understand. PAR seeks to create collective understanding through collaboration and reflective inquiry. PAR research implementation is designed between researchers and community members/clients acting in close partnership and mutual understandings.

PROGRAM METHOD BASE

Grounded Theory Methodology

Grounded theory is a systematic methodology that has been largely applied to qualitative research conducted by social scientists. The methodology involves the construction of hypotheses and theories through the collecting and analysis of data. Grounded theory involves the application of inductive reasoning and direct and immediate feedback from and with participants.

Design Research and Design Thinking

Design research is about having an open, evidence based, conversation with people in an attempt to further understand them and their contexts. It is about finding stories, understanding motivations, uncovering delightful moments and unmet needs, and most importantly, having a genuine curiosity about how others experience the world. In essence, design research is the art of observing what people say and do, involving direct feedback, and then collaboratively creating something new from the process and experience.
